The Tobago cricket team scored 6 runs off the last ball of the final 50-over match of the Ian Allen-Lincoln Roberts series to take the series 2-1. Chasing 239 to win at Park Hill, Tobago surpassed SVG's score on the final delivery in a tense affair. The bowler (Romario Bibby) and the batsman (Ancil Nedd) were both under immense pressure, However, Nedd prevailed by hitting a sensational boundary much to the delight of the Tobagonian squad.

The presentation of trophies and awards at the end of the bilateral series between SVG male senior team and the Tobago male senior team.

 

The Ian Allen-Lincoln Roberts trophy was awarded to the Tobago team. Joshua James from the Tobago team received trophies for the most runs in the series as well as man of the series.   

Darius Martin of SVG received the award for most wicket taken in the series.

 

In the 1st phase of the Beach Volleyball Continental Cup St. Vincent and the Grenadines was outduelled by St. Lucia in the country versus country elimination in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic on September 15, 2019. The Continental Cup was introduced in 2010 as part of the Beach Volleyball Olympic Games qualification system. 

In the best of three game format Ronaldo Franklyn and Asmond Franklyn were closely edged out by Gillian Octave and Augustin Faulkner of St Lucia by scores of 21-19, 21-19. The second game saw a battle between Daryl Franklyn and Delshun Welcome of St. Vincent and Tevin St Jean and Germaine Curtney of St Lucia. The Lucians eventually prevailed 2 sets to 1 (21-14, 18- 21, 15-7)

 

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Volleyball Association has selected a nine-member team to represent the country in the ECVA Under 21 Male Zonal Championship scheduled for Antigua from 28th to 2nd September 2019. 

The team which travelled to Antigua today comprises Jamaar Crooper (Captain), Shemor Baynes, Ezra Browne, Shadron Delpesche, Lancelot Charles, Kaif Fraser, Kyle Liverpool, Enrico Louraine and Marques Thomas. The team’s Head Coach is Vance Andrews and Assistant Coach Daryl Franklyn. 

In preparation for the tournament, the team has received additional training over the last two weeks, from Mr. Francisco Cruz Jimenez, Trinidad national coach, currently in St. Vincent for three months as part of the FIVB Sports Development – Coaching Support Project. 

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is the defending champion and will come up against Antigua and Barbuda, St. Lucia and St. Kitts and Nevis. The team plays its first game on Thursday 19th at the YMCA, St. Johns. 

The association takes this opportunity to thank the St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee (SVGOC) for their assistance in participating in this competition.

The pair of Asmond Franklyn and Ronaldo Franklyn and the pair of Daryl Franklyn and Delshun Welcome left the state today, 11th September 2019, for Punta Cana, Dominican Republic to participate in the 1st phase of the Beach Volleyball Continental Cup. 

 The Continental Cup was introduced in 2010 as part of the Beach Volleyball Olympic Games qualification system. The competition comprises of three phases, including a final that will be played in June 2020 qualifying for Tokyo 2020. Each country is required to have two teams and Team SVG will play against St. Lucia in a best of 3 matches from September 14-15. 

While in the Dominican Republic, the teams will also take part in the 6th stop of the 2019 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour. 

 The association takes this opportunity to thank the St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee (SVGOC) for their assistance in participating in this competition.

Just shy of three years old, Dolphin Gymnastics has flourished both in numbers and accomplishments. With their now 176 athletes and several medal claiming outings they have found the perfect location to hone their skills in ultimate pursuit of Olympic glory in gymnastics for St. Vincent and the Grenadines. On Saturday 22nd September Dolphin Gymnastics unveiled and opened their new home at the repurposed Mustique Airways hanger at the decommissioned E.T Joshua airport.


Starting in October 2015 with 8 gymnasts by married couple Kerry and La Prise Williams neither of whom are strangers to gymnastics, according to the couple they both have been safety certified by USA gymnastics and La Prise, the more experienced of the two has been coaching for the past 25 years.

The opening ceremony was a showcase of the facility, the equipment as well as Dolphin Gymnastics talent. Many of the young gymnasts at various levels performed for a supportive gathering, leaving onlookers amazed in some instances with some bold gravity defying moves. Speakers at the ceremony included Minister of Tourism Sports and Culture, Hon. Cecil Mc Kie, General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee, Mr. Keith Joseph and Mr. Johnathan Palmer of Mustique Airways, who donated the hanger towards this purpose.

 

According to La Prise, their main goal is to develop gymnast that live here and are from here to become future Olympians and to train them for the Olympics, CARIFTA and Commonwealth Games.” They now have a facility equipped to help them realize this dream, however Kerry indicated that work will continue to make the exterior more welcoming and aesthetically pleasing.
