The pair of Asmond Franklyn and Ronaldo Franklyn and the pair of Daryl Franklyn and Delshun Welcome left the state today, 11th September 2019, for Punta Cana, Dominican Republic to participate in the 1st phase of the Beach Volleyball Continental Cup.
The Continental Cup was introduced in 2010 as part of the Beach Volleyball Olympic Games qualification system. The competition comprises of three phases, including a final that will be played in June 2020 qualifying for Tokyo 2020. Each country is required to have two teams and Team SVG will play against St. Lucia in a best of 3 matches from September 14-15.
While in the Dominican Republic, the teams will also take part in the 6th stop of the 2019 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour.
The association takes this opportunity to thank the St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee (SVGOC) for their assistance in participating in this competition.
