Background
The National Sports Council was established in the year 1988.
The functions of the Sports Council are:
- To Stimulate and facilitate the development of sports generally in St.Vincent and the Grenadines
- To Develop, maintain and manage sporting facilities, including all playing fields and/or stadiums (Other than Victoria Park) provided by the Government for public use.
- To Administer the funds of the Council and all Government grants allotted to sporting organizations.
Mission Statement:
To collaborate with stakeholders in promoting and facilitating the holistic development of sports, to international standards, in St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Vision Statement:
To be positioned as the leading authority in a sporting environment that benefits and empowers all members of society in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
